After the war in the 50s and early 60s there was a homophile movement that started developing. The Mattachine Society founded in 1950 (probably second to Chicago’s lived Society For Human Rights founded in 1924) , the Daughters OF Bilitis founded in 1955, The Society For Individual Rights (SIR) founded in 1964.
