A Glimpse of the Fire Island of Yore

Fire Island in 1976 a much simpler time. No cell phones, no texting, people actually hanging out with each other enjoying being around other like minded adults. Nelson Sullivan’s early videography showed us how we vacationed back in the mid 1970′s. People cruising and gallivanting on the beach without the hassles of modern technology. You’ll Come Again and Again.

Man’s Country Baths which was located at 28 West 15th street was a gay bath house in New York city that opened sometime in the early 197os. It was not as popular as the downtown St.Marks Baths or the uptown Everard Baths. Man’s Country Bathhouse was located on a residential street in a former office building said to have up to nine or ten floors of orgies (a person who had attended said “that only the top two or three floors were used.”) It was said that the main orgy room featured a full sized tractor trailer cab for use [...]

Polictical Awareness, Has It Changed Much From 1982? to 2012?

As the video opens we start out with a ditty from four Gay San Franciscians. The Choral Majority consisting of Leslie Hassberg, Barbara Brautigam, Larry Wisch and Tim Curbo. They perform from their repartee of sinful but wicked little ditties about the treatment of gays durning early 1980′s. The Choral Majority is a bold, blaspheming quartet crusading and caroling against the New Right, Reaganomics, all things homophobic and politically incorrect. They have managed to offend just about everyone at some point with audiences loving it! Are politics any different from 1982 to 2012? Thirty years later in some respects yes [...]
