The L.U.R.E. (Leather Uniform Rubber Etc.) bar and nightclub was located at 409 W. 13th street. from 1994 to 2003 in the heart of the Meatpacking district.
The L.U.R.E. was housed in a old meatpacking plant that had closed and was converted to a club in mid 1994 and owned and managed by Wally Wallace. The bar was featured in Sex and the City on HBO, Samantha (Kim Cattrall) lived just above the L.U.R.E and would buy her sex toys at the leather shop inside the club.
The bar was open every night of the week and offered something for everybody who came looking for kink and fetishism. On Wednesday night it was Pork, with exhibits and demonstrations including tattooing, fisting art (also featured at the Roxy New York City nightclub/roller rink).
