The Flag 1978, Our Colors Don’t Run, San Francisco

On Saturday afternoon March 19th  while discussing the topic of Pride on a roundtable with QueerPublicRadio.com we touched on the subject of the Rainbow Pride Flag. The flag was created by Gilbert Baker an activist/artist born in 1951 often referred to as the Gay Betsy Ross, he was discharged from the ARMY in 1972 and shortly after took up sewing. Pride 1981 Lesbian and Gay Pride Pinback Button

This Vintage early 1980′s New Wave Lesbian and Gay Pride Button/Pin back from 1981 CSLDC (Christopher Street Liberation Day Committee). The Christopher Street Liberation Day Committee was the founders of the Gay Pride March committee in New York City. ...  club DJ’s. Kevin worked with the Sound Factory dancing and performing with Superstar DJ Junior Vasquez. Kevin was featured in the 1999 movie “Flawless” with Robert De Niro. Kevin Avaince was attacked in June of 2006 at the East Village section of Manhattan while leaving the club Phoenix by a homophobic group of men. Kevin was beaten so hard his jaw bone was smashed requiring his jaw to be wired shut for over a month, still his strength prevailed and he attended the 2006 Pride Parade in NYC.
