Love Sidney 1981 NBC Sitcom starring Tony Randall (1920/2004) as a middle aged man whose gay and lives alone in Manhattan, New York City in the early 1980′s. He befriends a mother Laurie Morgan played by Lorna Patterson (1956) in the telemovie Sidney Shorr and Swoozie Kurtz (1944) in Love Sidney tv sitcom. The daughter Patti Morgan was played by Kaleena Kiff.
The Series lasted 44 episodes only two seasons. The fact that Sidney was gay was never mentioned it was always insinuated. The homosexuality was downplayed because sponsers and advertisers would affect the funding for the show. Tony Randall left the part in 1983 after being disappointed by what he saw as censorship on the show.
